| Description | This project developed Recommended Practices (RP) for the sampling equipment, sample handling, and analytical methods (offshore facility based or shore based) for high water cut oil commonly found in Gulf of Mexico Deepwater gathering facilities or ‘hubs’. The key objectives were to estimate the amount of uncertainty of analytical methods over the range of available data, investigate the limitations of various analytical methods and equipment with regard to water cut and fluid properties, qualify procedures and associated requirements, identify exceptions of various analytical methods and equipment, and recommend best practices over range of applications. The water cut range of highest interest was from 2% to 25% although data on water cuts to 50% were included as found. |
