| Project Number | 444 |
| Date of Summary | January 26, 2005 |
| Subject | Integrity Monitoring for Composite Elements and Workshop |
| Performing Activity | OTRC, Texas A&M |
| Principal Investigator | Ochoa and Williams |
| Contracting Agency | Minerals Management Service |
| Estimated Completion | September 2003 |
| Description | The project had developed criteria for the level of inspection needed for composite structures used offshore and to develop an understanding of the availability of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) tools that could be economically applied to assess the integrity performance and safety of critical primary structures. A one-day symposium was held on November 21, 2002 in Houston. The key issues for the research and development were the following: Designing and Building Inspectability; Passive/Active Insitu Monitoring (underwater and downhole), and Reliability of Inspection Methods in Specific Applications. |
| Progress | The workshop was successful; the project is completed. |
