| Project Number | 422 |
| Date of Summary | October 19, 2004 |
| Subject | Earthquake Assessment of Subsea Facilities/GOM |
| Performing Activity | Texas A&M University, Offshore Technology Research Center (OTRC) |
| Principal Investigator | Bracci and Hueste |
| Contracting Agency | Minerals Management Service |
| Completion | December 2003 |
| Description | Project
to assess the vulnerability, operability, and safety of sub-sea production
systems in the GOM during earthquakes of varying probabilistic seismic
intensities. The assessment involved participation from industry and
regulatory representatives to define current sub-sea systems, technologies,
operation, concerns, and the potential mitigation actions during times of
events (earthquakes). Research Tasks have been broken out into these areas:
Waiting on finalized papers and distribution and analysis and evaluations. |
| Progress | This project has been completed and final report has been accepted. |
