Gyre docked in Harbor Island, Texas, this morning about 9:30 am CDT (=14:30 UTC = 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time). Dave Lundquist, Carol Roden, Aaron Thode, and Chris Wingard left the cruise with the end of Leg 1. We thank them for a job well done. We welcomed on board Kyle Baker, Lee Benner, Bill Burgess, and Tom Norris. Leg 2 of our S-tag cruise set sail at 16:30 CDT (=21:30 UTC). At our present speed, we should arrive back in the region where we have seen sperm whales in the western Gulf in the middle of the night.
