MMS Hosting "Production Data
Workshop"
DENVER –
Options for streamlining and improving the collection and
dissemination of oil and gas production data will be the
focus of a Production Data Workshop scheduled for Dec. 5,
2006, in Houston, Texas, and hosted by the Department of the
Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS).
The
workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5,
at:

There is no
charge for the workshop, but participants are asked to
register in advance by Friday, Nov. 24, via the web at:

Workshop
sponsors note that the availability of accurate and current
oil and gas production data from Federal and Indian leases
is an important issue to the MMS, the Bureau of Land
Management (BLM), and the oil and gas industry. The
workshop will include break-out sessions, depending upon
attendance, to identify and facilitate discussions regarding
potential short- and long-term solutions.
The
workshop will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome and
introductions, followed by background discussions concerning
data requirements, data exchange issues and reporting
issues. Break-out sessions are planned for Minerals Revenue
Management (MRM)/BLM Data Exchange issues and BLM Data
Needs; MRM/Offshore Energy and Minerals Management Data Exchange
issues, including the reporting of production and shut-in
statistics during hurricanes; Reporting Issues; and Industry
Data Needs.
The
workshop is designed for industry representatives
responsible for reporting oil and gas production data to the
Federal Government.
