CORRECTION TO CIVIL PENALTIES PAID

On February 2, 1998, MMS published in the Federal Register a list of civil penalties paid September 1, 1997- December 31, 1997 for violations occurring in the Outer Continental Shelf. The list contained a typographical error for the amount of the civil penalty paid by Vastar Resources, Inc. The penalty paid should have been $40,500 not $440,500.

The Federal Register will publish the correction on February 13, 1998, and the revised list will also be posted on the MMS home page at www.mms.gov.
