ROYALTY POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING SET FOR MARCH 21 IN DENVER


The Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS) today announced that the next meeting of the Royalty Policy Committee of the Minerals Management Advisory Board is scheduled for March 21, in Denver, Colorado.

The RPC will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 7525 East Hampden Avenue; the agenda is highlighted by consideration of reports by the Committee's Appeals, Settlements, and Alternative Dispute Resolution subcommittee, and the Phosphate Valuation subcommittee.

The Secretary of the Interior established the Royalty Policy Committee on the Minerals Management Advisory Board, to provide advice on royalty management and other mineral-related policies.

Committee membership includes representatives from states, Indian Tribes and Indian Allottee organizations, minerals industry associations, the general public, and other federal agencies.

The public may file written statements with the Committee for consideration; if time permits, the public also may be invited to make oral statements during the
meeting..

Minutes of the meeting are scheduled to be available March 31 for public inspection at the Royalty Management Program offices in Denver.

MMS is the federal agency that manages the Nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on the OCS, and collects, accounts for and disburses about $4 billion yearly in revenues from offshore federal mineral leases and from onshore mineral leases on federal and Indian lands.
