TIME OF BRIEFING HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 9:30 am.

The Minerals Management Service will conduct a briefing for reporters to update them on the status of California Crude Oil Underpricing and the proposed rulemaking governing the royalty valuation of crude oil produced from federal leases. That proposed rule was published in the January 24 Federal Register.

Senator Barbara Boxer, Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Land & Minerals Management Bob Armstrong, and MMS Director Cynthia Quarterman will participate.

The briefing is set for Thursday, January 30, 1997, beginning at 9:30 am in Room SC 5. Go to the Crypt of the Capitol, which is on the Senate side of the Capitol under the Rotunda. Ask any guard for more specific directions.
