Subject: Proposed Rule -- Notice of Extension of Public Comment Period

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) has published a Federal Register Notice extending the public comment period on a Notice of Proposed Rule. The proposed rule (61 FR 55607), published October 28, 1996, would amend the regulations governing MMS's administrative appeals process.

MMS has extended the comment period from December 27, 1996, to March 27, 1997.
