Baugher (303) 231-3162 or Lee Scurry (202) 208-3983 1993 MINERAL REVENUES REPORT AVAILABLE NOW FROM MINERALS MANAGEMENT SERVICE The U.S. Department of the Interior's Minerals Management Service (MMS) announces the availability of the annual publication, Mineral Revenues 1993 Report On Receipts From Federal And Indian Leases. The 140-page booklet reports on the 1993 activities of the MMS Royalty Management Program, including collection of $4 billion in bonuses, rents and royalties from Indian and federal offshore and onshore mineral leases. The annual report also offers tables and statistics relating to the generation, distribution and history of revenues obtained under this program. The Minerals Management Service distributed $543.7 million to mineral-producing states in 1993. The money was the states' share of mineral revenues from federal lands located within their borders and from special federal offshore oil and gas tracts adjacent to the boundary between state and federal waters. In addition, the Historic Preservation Fund received $150 million and the Land and Water Conservation Fund received $900 million in revenues from the federal Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) program. The balance of OCS receipts -- some $1.9 billion -- was directed to the General Fund of the U.S. Treasury. Copies of the 1993 report are now available, free of charge, by writing or calling: Public Affairs Office Royalty Management Program Minerals Management Service P.O.
