FOR RELEASE: April 6, 1994 CONTACT: John Barclay (202) 208-3983 **SPECIAL INFORMATION** MMS RELEASES ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH BIBLIOGRAPHY The Interior Department's Minerals Management Service (MMS) today announced that a new Bibliography of Scientific Journal Articles based on MMS environmental research is available from the agency. The publication contains citations to some 750 peer-reviewed scientific articles resulting from research funded under MMS's Environmental Studies Program (ESP). The ESP was created in 1973 to produce scientific information and data on the marine, offshore and coastal environments for use by MMS officials planning the Outer Continental Shelf natural gas and oil program. Since 1973, MMS has spent some $600 million on environmental studies.
