   SECRETARY BABBITT WILL VISIT HERNDON MMS EMPLOYEES (#30006)
             Media Representatives Invited to Attend


     Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt will meet with
employees at the Herndon, VA, offices of the Minerals Management
Service (MMS) at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, his office
announced today.

     Accommodations will be available for area reporters and
editors, including those from oil, gas and energy trade
publications as well as general interest media, according to the
announcement.

     The meeting is designed to allow the Secretary to meet MMS
employees in the Atrium Building and to allow them to ask him
questions about their concerns.  Babbitt has already held two
such meetings at the Main Interior Building in Washington, D.C.
