• Directs inspection and enforcement activities to assure compliance of OCS lessees with regulations

• Assures coordination of post-lease activities with other Federal, State, and local agencies

• Approves gas flaring or venting requests

• Inspects all operations on OCS facilities and metering functions, both offshore and onshore

• Monitors activities for compliance with OCS laws and regulations

• Conducts investigations, recommends civil penalties where warranted
