MMS requires that
all Losses of Well Control be reported. Effective July 17, 2006, MMS
revised the regulations for incident reporting. The number of Losses of
Well Control for 2006 may be affected by this change when compared to
other years. The current definition for Loss of Well Control means:

Uncontrolled
flow of formation or other fluids. The flow may be to an exposed
formation (an underground blowout) or at the surface (a surface
blowout).

Flow through a
diverter
|
|
|
Uncontrolled
flow resulting from a failure of surface equipment or procedures
