The MMS now makes its environmental information more accessible through a complete redesign of its Environmental Program internet site! (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/index.htm) All environmental information is now integrated into a single site to allow immediate access to several areas of interest.

 

bulletAssessment (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/assessment/index.htm) - A description of the program's essential functions, including the 5-year leasing program, compliance with laws, and cooperative efforts.
bulletCompliance (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/compliance/index.htm) - Descriptions of legal requirements and our environmental policies and procedures that apply to the Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Program.
bulletSciences (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/sciences/index.htm) - A description of the management and coordination of the Oil Spill Modeling Program and the Environmental Studies Program.
bulletEnvironmental Studies Program (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/sciences/esp/index.htm) - Prospective, ongoing and completed research efforts and oil spill modeling are now online. The new design is arranged by region and discipline (e.g., biology, socioeconomics, physical oceanography, modeling, etc) allowing users to concentrate on a single discipline or jump to another with a minimum of links.

ESPIS is a searchable, web based, full text retrieval system allowing users to view reports online or download their complete text.
bulletSocial Science (http://www.mms.gov/eppd/socecon/index.htm) - Research to understand the consequences of OCS-related activities on the populations, economies, and social and cultural systems, to support planning and management processes, and to provide information for effective interaction with the public.
