FCMA - EFH Maps
The NMFS is developing a composite of EFH maps on a computer database for every species
covered in an FMP. In developing the EFH maps, NMFS has relied to some extent on the
data from MMS' cooperative Gulf-Wide
Information System (G-WIS). As these and other maps become officially available,
MMS plans to incorporate these data layers in its Technical Information Management System
(TIMS). This will serve as a common data reference for MMS analysts addressing
fisheries issues.
