The Environmental Component of the MMS Corporate
Database
The BEA provides policy guidance and oversees incorporation of
computerized environmental databases into the MMS corporate database. This includes the
use of geographic information systems and other tools that will give MMS a level of
competence in technical information management similar to other Federal agencies, and it
will allow MMS to efficiently acquire and use much of the available environmental data
relevant to our OCS analyses and decisions.
