Offshore Air Quality Compliance

The Pacific Region coordinates with local Air Pollution Control Districts on all environmental reviews and assists in field monitoring of air quality requirements for OCS oil and gas projects to ensure compliance with applicable requirements of the projects.  MMS is additionally responsible for coordinating with the Air Districts to ensure that equipment modifications resulting from new air quality requirements do not hinder safe and technically feasible operations. 

The Air Districts and the Pacific Region platforms they regulate are as follows:

South Coast Air Quality Management District:
Edith, Ellen, Elly, Eureka

Ventura County Air Pollution Control District
Grace, Gilda, Gail, Gina

Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District
Habitat, Harmony, Harvest, Henry, Heritage,
Hermosa, Hidalgo, Hillhouse, Hogan, Houchin,
Hondo, Irene, A, B, and C
