The Information Technology Division (ITD) supports the Information Management (IM) needs of the Offshore Minerals Management (OMM) Program. It is composed of two sections, the Technical Services Branch (TSB), and the Information Technology Policy Group. Together, these groups work with OMM organizations to provide the IM tools and services that support the OMM mission.

The Technical Services Branch houses the web development team, whose members maintain the MMS web site as well as the Agency’s Pipeline Intranet. There is also a publications team, whose members provide support in editorial and desktop publishing services for Offshore publications. Graphics services are also available, for the creation of posters, maps, and multimedia presentations.

The Information Technology Policy Group encompasses the Division’s IT policy, planning, budget, acquisition, FOIA, records management, and support projects.

While ITD is not expecting to hire any interns, it expects that some of the interns hired by other divisions will wish to do a rotational assignment in it.  The nature and duration of the rotational assignments will be determined by the interests and background of the intern as well as the needs of the division.
