  Blaine Wofford
Senior Marketing Representative

Devon Energy Corporation

Nominated by: Gregory W. Smith, Manager, Oil and Gas RIK Operations, Minerals Revenue Management

Mr. Wofford is nominated for the MMS Corporate Leadership Award for his outstanding assistance to MMS RIK staff and management in the area of gas plant processing economics and understanding. Mr. Wofford, on his own initiative, sought out MMR RIK staff to bring his extensive marketing and gas processing experience and perspectives to our attention. Mr. Wofford provided MMS with a gas processing economics model that has turned out to be a critical tool that MMS RIK staff uses in conducting processing analyses. He has also spent hours in person and on the phone explaining its use to MMS analysts. Interior Secretary Gale A. Norton, Blaine Wofford of Devon Energy Corporation, and Acting MMS Director Thomas R. Further, when MMS was considering conducting an RIK exchange auction for properties on the Sea Robin Pipeline System, Mr. Wofford explained numerous technical factors related to gas flow and markets that were crucial to our understanding the lay of the eland for these properties. This information caused us to significantly change our analysis and approach to properties on this system and will lead to us to a more well-thought-out RIK program in this area. Mr. Wofford's interest and initiative in the success of the Nation's RIK programs has been and continues to be highly valuable to MMS RIK staff. He is a valued partner in our efforts to succeed in this endeavor.
