| Mr. Duhon has continued to be a leader within the
industry in promoting our Safety and Environmental Management Program (SEMP) through API's
RP75 as a viable business approach to safety system management. He has continually looked
for ways to make adoption and use of this approach acceptable and easy. Over the last year and a half, Mr. Duhon voluntarily chaired a joint
OOC/MMS work group convened to develop audit protocols based on RP75. The intention of the
group was to develop audit protocols that could be used directly or tailored by companies
who were ready to begin assessing the effectiveness of their safety system management
programs but who did not yet have their own audit systems. They could also be used by
companies with ongoing audit programs for benchmarking purposes. Mr. Duhon contacted team
members to seek their participation, held several meetings, provided formats and editorial
consistency, and continually monitored the progress of the project. He oversaw an
exrensive editorial review of the final protocols. This effort further demonstrates an
industry commitment to safety system management by devoting resources to the effort and to
Mr. Duhon's belief in the efficacy of the RP75 approach. |
