A pacific walrus can weigh up to 2,000 pounds and grow to 14 feet in length. They have reddish-colored skin and ivory tusks. Their neck is short and they have short bristly moustaches. Walruses can dive to about 300 feet beneath the ocean. They use their tusks to dig for mollusks like clams, mussels, snails, and other invertebrates that live on the sea bottom. Walruses are very fast. They can move just as fast as you can on land because they can walk on all fours unlike seals which have to pull themselves with their front flippers.
